Srinagar, Apr 17 (KNO): Peoples Democratic Party (PD) senior leader, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra on Thursday said there was no difference between the elected government and the Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir as every atrocity like attachment of properties, termination of employees and raids continue to take place in Jammu and Kashmir. The PDP MLA from Pulwama Assembly constituency slammed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for not attending the last three days of the Assembly when the contentious Waqf Amendment Bill was to be discussed and raised. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Parra said that Omar Abdullah is ashamed of calling himself a Muslim and preferred to visit Tulip Garden instead of participating in the Assembly to raise the voice against the contentious Waqf Act. “Let him not pass the resolution, but we are 60 Muslims in the assembly including three from PDP, who brought a resolution, but he should have been present there,” he said. He also said that PDP is being targeted for forging an alliance with BJP, but the coalition was done with an aim to put an end to the atrocities, jails, attachment of properties and termination of employees. “We forged an alliance openly, but we didn’t make any deal on August 05. In 2002, we forged an alliance and opened a way for both sides of Kashmir. In 2014, we forged an alliance and brought an all-party delegation to the doors of Geelani Sahab,” he said. Parra also added that today, nobody is daring to speak, but during PDP’s tenure 12000 stone platers were given amnesty, interlocutor was appointed to mediate, Narendra Modi was made to accept that Kashmir issue can be resolved through dialogues. “But, NC despite having 50 MLAs in its kitty has failed to do any such work.” “We didn’t make any undercover deals. However, the deal was made when Afzal Guru was hanged. Omar Abdullah, as per Shinde, had told to hang Guru in Chilla-e-Kalan when people wouldn’t be capable of coming out due to cold weather. The deal was made in Maqbool Bhat’s hanging, in 1953, Delhi agreement,” he said. The PDP MLA further said that PDP with just 13 MLAs have done many things, which even Hurriyat failed to do in 70 years. About Dullat’s claims, he said that the former RAW Chief was made to change his statement multiple times yesterday, but the book can’t undo what has been written in it. The statement of Dullat should be spread and the people should know how their blood was sold,” he said. He also said that there was no difference between the present government and Governor’s rule. “Both are same in terms of sufferings of people as the raids, attachment of property, termination of employees continued during this government as well. When the Chief Minister can’t speak over the grave issue, can we remain silent on the issues in fear of the CM losing his chair?” Parra said that the culture, language and religion is under attack and the Chief Minister should clear his position in this regard—(KNO)
